• PTE Academic:

  • Writing: 85
  • Speaking: 88

Earns the highest English points

Proficient English

• IELTS: 7 in each skill
• PTE Academic:
  • Listening: 58
  • Reading: 59
  • Writing: 69
  • Speaking: 76

Gives a solid point boost

Competent English

• IELTS: 6 in each skill
• PTE Academic (yes, these matter now more than ever):
  • Listening: 47
  • Reading: 48
  • Writing: 51
  • Speaking: 54

Minimum required, but won’t give extra points

Vocational English (often required for trade roles)

• IELTS: 5 in each skill
• PTE Academic:

  • Writing: 29
  • Speaking: 24
