Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a targeted Express Entry draw under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on June 25, 2025, with the aim to emphasize human talent and workers. It was another occasion to infuse skilled human talent.

A total of 3,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency were issued to candidates who have proven Canadian work experience. The draw had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score of 521.

Canadian Experience Class Draws Reinforce Focus on Labour Market Integration

The latest draw is in favor of IRCC in achieving the objective of attracting and retaining foreign nationals who have been working for the Canadian economy. The Canadian Experience Class continues to be a much-desired route for those having at least one year of full-time skilled work experience acquired in Canada within the last three years.

Usually, selected applicants under this category have demonstrated better adaptability and stronger forms of economic integration, which align perfectly with Canada’s broader immigration objectives. 

Eligibility Requirements for Canadian Experience Class Applicants

The candidates invited in this round were assessed on the basis of the following key eligibility criteria:

1. One year of skilled work experience in Canada in the last three years
2. Valid language test result from an approved test with a CLB 7 or higher
3. An Express Entry profile valid in the pool at the time of the draw and
4. Conceived intention to live outside of Quebec. 

Strategic Implications for Future Candidates

The reintroduction of targeted draws based on program categories such as the CEC suggests a return to more refined selection mechanisms under Express Entry. Candidates who are already residing and working in Canada on temporary status—including Post-Graduation Work Permit holders and skilled workers—should treat this draw as a strong signal to optimize their Express Entry profiles.
