With inconsistencies and speculations around the Covid-19 affecting the Canada Immigration, the month of May experienced a significant increase in intake of permanent resident after following two straight months of falling immigration levels. Canada permitted 11,000 new immigrants in May as compared to the intake of just 4,000 in the month of April. The data gives a clear picture of triple Immigration level in the month of May 2020. And, the top 5 migrating communities arrived from the countries of India, China, the Philippines, the US, and Nigeria.

Furthermore, if we take the half yearly report of ITA issued for the 3 years, we can see that:

  • Year 2018 – ITA issued 39,700 (Jan to Jun)
  • Year 2019 – ITA issued 41,800 (Jan to Jun)
  • Year 2020 – ITA issued 49,900 (Jan to Jun)

The data strongly indicates that immigration system and its functioning is getting back to normal amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In early 2020, Canada had a rough start due to the coronavirus led to travel restrictions and disruptions but in a given month, some 25,000-35,000 individuals officially become permanent residents of Canada. The higher immigration levels in the month of May, tell us that IRCC is fully capable to process more applications under Canada Express Entry as compared to the beginning of this pandemic.

Study suggests that Canada Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was on the forefront of inviting new permanent residents with 3,000 arrivals in May including over 2,000 were the spouses and partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who were exempted from Canada’s travel restrictions. Data also declares, 1,300 immigrants gained permanent residence through the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and 2,000 through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program.

On the whole, IRCC has issued 35,100 invitations, primarily to CEC and PNP candidates without considering the candidates in FSW program due to the Covid outbreak. This was deliberately done with the assumption that most of the CEC and PNP candidates are currently living in Canada, so they are less exposed to Covid-19 than those in abroad.

However, in the turn of events, IRCC recently announced all-program Canada Express Entry draw and resumed inviting FSWP candidates who living in Canada or outside Canada. This all-program draw suggests that IRCC is gearing up to welcome more immigrants from overseas towards the end of 2020 and early 2021.

All these figures, facts, data, immigration levels, studies, statistics are evident that Canada Immigration beginning to getting back to normal and inviting more and more applicants. This is the best chance of a lifetime, don’t wait, ACT NOW!!
