Much alarmed over the profusion of dubious immigration agencies, and worried over the increasing cases of dishonest practices to pocket the coveted citizenship of Canada, the government of Canada has decided to introduce an innovative tip line via the Call Centre of the CIC. Here, tips on alleged fraud cases involving citizenship could be duly reported and brought to light to suitably control and check this illegal activity.
In this connection, a concerned person was quoted as saying that the citizenship of the country is not up for grabs for just monetary considerations. Those having information related to citizenship fraud must get in touch with the tip line in question. He went on to add that the concerned department will see that each and every tip is thoroughly probed and that right action is taken.
Incidents related to fake representation, hoax or deliberate hiding of material state of affairs in the procedure involving citizenship must be brought to the notice of the concerned body. Those from abroad may get in touch with the nearest visa centre of Canada. Other kinds of con tips involving immigration must be brought to the notice of the involved body. The CBSA behind this line is the agency which enforces the rules of the related Act.
Till date, the CIC has caught as many as 2,000 persons from more than 100 nations, who could have pocketed the coveted citizenship of the nation via dishonest means. Several of such recipients may have employed cunning immigration and visa advisors to wrongly furnish evidence related to a dwelling in Canada. The CIC is likely to cancel the citizenship of all such people.
