Available report suggests that a panel of business leaders, immigration law specialists, and city mayors in the US has disclosed that the nation must understand that immigration significantly boosts the country's economic growth, apart from making it more competitive at the world stage. The panel urged for immigration law changes to enable extremely skilled immigrants and foreign entrepreneurs to stay and do a job in the country permanently.
An involved person was quoted as saying that the immigration system of the nation was not healthy. In a situation where there was an urgent requirement for half a million new workers annually, with no method to bring them on a legal and authorized basis, it was an open invitation for illegal and unauthorized immigration.
The person went on to add that thanks to the not too perfect immigration system numerous individuals had become unauthorized migrants. People of the US required understanding the basic thing that the foundation of the nation is immigration. Meanwhile, an immigration attorney was quoted as saying that the global competitiveness of the country was at a risk if the US failed to find a solution involving those migrants who were unaccounted for.
At present, every year just 5% of green cards go to immigrants having advanced degrees, or who make investments in enterprises. And, majority of the green cards are offered to those immigrants who turn up on the soils of the US via family sponsorship scheme.
