In an important development, which may not much enthuse those keen on getting the much sought after the H-1B Visas of the US, the concerned organization of the nation -- the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) -- has declared that they have received sufficient applications for the H-1B Visas. And, the upper limit has been reached for the financial year concluding September 30, 2012 .
Fresh applications submitted by an individual, who is still not in the status of the H-1B, for another job-provider, will now not be entertained, prior to April 1, 2012. All applicants behind the applications received -- post the said date -- would do well to seek employment starting October 1, 2012.
Applications filed for the current H-1B workers, who have earlier been covered against the limit, would not be covered towards the H-1B upper limit meant for the year 2012. All applications for the said visa received after November 23, 2011, would not be entertained.
Earlier, the involved organization had invited public feedback on the suggested Rule related to Pre-Registration for the H-1B which would enable a job-provider to get registered online even while they cool their heels and wait for an H-1B number, prior to submitting the complete application for it, complete with all the needed and essential documents.
However, those who have failed to make the cut this time around, need not lose heart. They still have a rather good option. They can submit an application for the much-prized Permanent Residency.
