Reportedly, at present, the waiting period at the Terminal 4 of the Heathrow Airport, for non-EU arrivals, already take around two hours during prime hours. To manage the arrival of visitors, 1000s of immigration personnel of the nation will be transferred from their usual duties to cover arrivals all through the Olympics. Those Olympics personnel and athletes who have not registered their biometric data well in advance will have to get their fingerprints and photographs taken when they turn up at the said entry port of the nation.
London predicts as much as 80% of foreign Olympics guests -- such as athletes, officers, sponsors, media and spectators -- will go through the airport even as the day after the closing ceremonial of the Olympics, i.e., August 13, is likely to be a very busy day for Heathrow airport.
