In a major happening -- which is likely to make students pursuing higher studies, and having Canadian dreams, quite happy -- Ottawa has disclosed that the country will soon begin the process of admitting a few students, pursuing PhD, to bolster the nation's domains of technology, science and math.
Talking about the development, a concerned minister was quoted as saying that Ottawa was broadening the category of the federal skilled workers to cover students pursuing PhD in specific streams, even while he observed that the nation did not have enough individuals having skills in these.
Interestingly, the minister came out with the observation at a venue where the government was busy giving focus to the mega success of the Canadian experience category, which is targeted at global students and skilled temporary foreign workers who wish to settle in the country.
Meanwhile, the Immigration Minister of the country -- who recently had rolled out red carpet welcome to the striking permanent resident (10,000th) to come into the country, via the program -- was quoted as saying that earlier the nation sent individuals, who wished to acquire citizenship, back to the country from where they came with the thought that they would begin on the waitlist period of seven years.
Now, to successfully make the cut, under the program involving the skilled workers, such students must have concluded not less than two years of study, on their way to the degree, and must also enjoy an overall fine credential at a famous or well recognized post-secondary centre of learning in the country.
