A recent report, based on a research, suggests that 50% of all professionals from abroad would mull over migrating to the British Capital London, in case they ever wished to work abroad. New York with 28% share came second on the list of the most loved destination cities even as Singapore occupied the third spot (16%), Paris the fifth position (15%), and Sydney the sixth spot (10%). Tokyo, Shanghai and Dubai were the other leading hotspots.
As many as 160,000 seekers of job, from banking to telecommunications domains, took part in the study. According to the report in question, London -- with its banking, legal and creative industries -- still remains a key attraction for professionals from across the globe.
Figures show that most of the skilled workers making a move to the UK Capital are professionals from nations undergoing economic downturn - specifically Ireland, Greece and Portugal. Besides, about 50% of those who participated in the survey also mentioned the higher living standards in Britain as the chief factor behind their desire to move to and work in the British Capital.
Meanwhile, a concerned person was quoted as saying that the seekers of job have become more accommodative these days as to where they will do a job, even as with English, as their first language, they have an edge.
Much significantly, the said report also reveals that 63% of the British skilled workers would be more than happy to work abroad -- up from 47% from two years back.
