People intending to immigrate to the United Kingdom must keep themselves updated with the latest fee structures for various visas that took effect from April 6, 2011 onwards. Before applying for any visa category it is recommended to take a note of the new fees which basically apply to non-European Union nationals.
Along with nationals from non-EU countries, employers who hire foreign nationals under certain visa categories, as well as education providers are also obliged to pay changed, precisely increased sponsorship fees.
Changes to visa fee include the following:
- Settlement visas for dependent relatives are now charged at 1,814 Pounds. It's a jump from previous 1,680 Pounds.
- UK Tier 1 visa applications made from within Britain reaches 1,000 Pounds from 850 Pounds.
- Fee for a student visa for short-term period of less than a year jumps from just 70 Pounds to 140 Pounds.
- Postal application for a UK Tier 2 visa gets a slight hike, from 500 Pounds to 550 Pounds.
From the changes made to visa fee structures it seems settlement for dependent relatives comes at quite a price. If we study the visa hike trend of previous years, one thing we will notice that the group of people most affected by the increases are the one with dependent relatives. And this year is no exception!
