In a rather important development which is not likely to enthuse or inspire many -- more so the affected migrants and their families - the advisors of the UK Government, on the immigration policy of the country, have suggested a swell in the minimum salary requirements to bring in a spouse to the shores of country.
In case the proposal gets an approval from the concerned body, the changes may reduce the number of the applications duly submitted for the purpose of getting family visas by as much as 35%. The concerned organization has recommended that those desiring to bring in a spouse or offspring to live in the country -- via the path of the well-known family migration -- must have an earning of at least somewhere between £18,600 and £25,700 prior to tax.
In case the proposal manages to see the light of the day even while it gets the sanction from the government, it would lead to a situation wherein majority of the individuals would not be in a position to bring in a foreign mate to the shores of the country - the reason being their salary would not be regarded sufficient for the purpose in question.
The present rules and regulations unambiguously make it clear that a citizen or resident of the UK may sponsor the admission of his or her mate or partner, if he or she is earning not less than £13,700 before tax and housing expenses.
