A leading organization has disclosed what many of us have known since too long-Australia is the happiest developed nation across the globe. Largely due to a timely resources thunder Down Under, the nation was the sole chief developed country to get the better of global meltdown. Canberra was placed pretty high in most of the 11 Better Life Index issues, with jobs, accommodation, health & life satisfaction, education, society, besides environment being some of them.
Talking about the development, the report based on the annual Better Life Index made by the organization behind the study said that Canberra performs highly well in the matters of overall well-being, as revealed by the fact that it ranks very high among the leading nations in several subjects in the Better Life Index.
It also revealed that life expectancy at birth Down Under was as high as 82 years. In addition, over 72% of the Australians had a rewarding paid job in the country, between the age of 15 and 64, above the available average of 66% registered elsewhere. The Australians also put in comparatively lesser number of hours, for work purposes.
Thanks mainly to the high quality of air and water, on the health front also the ‘Kangaroo Land’ has done very well. The overall levels of environmental air pollutant objects; tiny enough to gain entry and inflict serious damage on the lungs are significantly lower in the country even as 92% of people from the country reportedly observed that they were quite happy with the overall quality of the water made available to them.
