The ‘Land of Endless Opportunities’ Australia is fast becoming one of the most targeted nations by the students from across the globe, with India being no exception. Actually, available reports suggest that Down Under is once high up on the radar of the students from India, even as the number of the visa applications, filed from India, for the Kangaroo Land, became 200% during the course of the past one year or so.
The status of the Kangaroo Land, which had taken a serious beating -- thanks to certain racial attacks, made on Indian students -- has become normal, once again. In this connection, the High Commission of the concerned nation in India revealed that the number of the Indian students, filing applications for Australian Visas, had swelled by over 100% during the last six months of 2011, vis-?-vis the same duration in 2010.
It needs to be mentioned that -- thanks to the racially motivated attacks, as alleged, and made on the students from India during the year of 2009 - Australia had lost much of its appeal in India, and amongst the Indian students wishing to study Down Under. But, in the wake of fresh measures undertaken by both the involved nations, such attacks ended even with this the Kangaroo Land once again began to regain its lost charm as a hot destination, for study purposes.
