Some good news for the overseas skilled workers, eying Canadian shores! The country's immigration visas -- given under its popular Federal Skilled Worker program (FSWP) - presently are on offer for the professionals from several professions, though in limited numbers. Psychologists, Dentists, Electricians, Physiotherapists, etc., wishing to migrate to the nation, under its skilled program, must apply as soon as possible.
At present, Ottawa has kept its doors wide open, for such skilled workers, under the FSWP, in 25 out from the 29 professions covered under the current Ministerial Instructions, introduced in 2008. This is another matter that the upper limits for some of the open vocations are filling up quicker than others.
Since several years, the FSWP has been the most famous immigration program of the nation even as it offers permanent residence visas to the skilled professionals from all over the globe, on the basis of their skills in these: profession, education, language skills, etc.
Skilled workers are picked up on the basis of the Points System -- a program based on the points one scores in each of the 6 factors and his capacity to pocket the minimum required pass marks.
Since long, Canada has been a hotspot for immigration purposes even as it gets several times more applications than it may actually be in a position to process or accept annually. The resultant backlog of applications has increased the processing time required for the said purpose.
