Available reports suggest that the topmost Travel Federation of the US is exerting pressure on the National Congress to pass a new law, tailored to clear-off the US Visitor Visa blockades, hoping that such a move will be in the overall interest of the national tourism.
Even though visitors from across the world are likely to spend more than $152 billion during the present year, tourists may offer an even bigger boost to the national economy -- provided the present bill before the Congress sails through making it much easier to get visitor visas.
The bill is tailored to boost global tourism to the country. Champions of the move believe that it will assist the national economy even as a large number of new jobs will be created.
It has been more than a decade since the North American Nation introduced tougher travel visa requirements, in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Getting a visitor visa continues to be something very difficult for the foreign guests. At the present, there are not less than five bills waiting for clearance in the US Senate and House even as that would make it much easier for foreigners to get the said visas.
Meanwhile, tourism experts assert that the rather long waiting periods, prior to being permitted to enter the country, is discouraging visitors from abroad. They also claim that the dip registered in the number of foreign visitors during the past 10 years or so was proving dear for the national businesses and workers - that too when the economy requires both.
However, it is not mandatory for all visitors to the country to apply for a visa.
