From 1st of July, 2012, selection Criteria for General Skilled Migrant applicants will undergo a significant change. Under current laws, an interested applicant can get his skills assessed, meet related documentation requirements and file the application for permanent resident visa with Department of Immigration and citizenship (DIAC). Starting 1st July, 2012, skills assessment will be followed by filing of an expression of interest application and only applicants who are invited to file the applications can go through rest of immigration selection process. Thus, the overall application process will become more demanding.
